Halloween in North Wales is going to be unbelievably scary this year with plenty of activities for all the whole family.

Can you believe that already the leaves are falling from the trees, evenings are getting darker earlier, and it’s only a short time until Halloween? It’s thought that many of our Halloween traditions originated in the USA. However, it’s also recognised that they started off as Celtic harvest festivals, with pagan roots in the UK.

Halloween Events in North Wales 

Many of the activities for adults and children alike to sink their fangs into include dressing up in spooky, fancy dress costumes, carving pumpkins, apple bobbing games, visiting haunted attractions and playing pranks. Here is a list of some of the things you can book now in time for Halloween this year.

HALLOWS EVE – The Old School Ghost Hunt Sleepover

Returning again this year is The Old School Ghost Hunt Sleepover ran by Spooktacular Ghosting Events UK.

Those who claim to be real ghost hunters will spend the night with participants in Newport’s old Victorian school. Those over age 18 will be treated to the chance to use the equipment, conduct your own investigation as well as accomodation.

Tickets are £45 and the event will run from 8 pm to 11 pm. Hot drinks will be provided. The event will take place one night only on Saturday, October 30.

Pumpkin Picking

There are many farms across Wales offering pumpkin picking this spooky season and it is something the whole family is sure to enjoy. Pumkin patches are local throughout the country, depending on where you’d like to look for them. Get your carving knives ready for a great time ahead.

Gin and Bake – Dine in the Dark

The ever popular Gin & Bake in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff, is holding a Dine In The Dark event on Saturday, October 30. This 3 course Halloweeen themed meal will be a smash with all the monsters in the party. Decorations, live entertainment and DJ will be provided.

Zip World Spooky Ffear Fforest

With exciting rides, interactive entertainment and creepy clowns to scare the wits out of anyone in your group, Zip World’s Halloween event Ffear Fforest is making a spooktacular return in 2021 after being absent last year.

From October 22-31 twilight visitors to Betws-y-Coed’s Zip World Fforest site can expect brand new circus-themed elements and improved special effects after event organizers have worked all year to make this the most fun filled night of the year.

Ffear Fforest is open from 7:30pm to 10:30pm each evening. Some dates are already sold out so book now to reserve your space.

Halloween Spooktacular at Seldon’s Golden Gate and Whitehouse Leisure Parks

Of course the you won’t want to miss the Seldon’s Golden Gate and Whitehouse Leisure Halloween Half Term Spooktacular. This lineup of two Halloween parties with host entertainment, tricks and treats for every ghoul from the youngest to the oldest. Make sure you book early as tickets will go fast!
