We recently asked some of the owners at Golden Gate Holiday Centre why they decided to buy a static caravan holiday home.
Their reasons were wide and varied but here are some of the main reasons that people might find useful when considering their own holiday home purchase.
Static caravans are affordable
Not surprisingly, affordability was high on the list for many owners. When stacked up against buying a holiday cottage or apartment, with the associated costs, caravans are much cheaper. Calculating the cost of accommodation for all the family abroad over the years, the money really adds up. And having spent the money, although you may have wonderful memories, at the end of it you have nothing to show as a tangible asset.
You can buy a used static caravan for as little as £8,995 – sometimes less if there are sales on. At Golden Gate we offer finance packages, subject to status, so you can spread the cost if you wish.
To cover part or all of the annual site fees and maintenance costs you can rent the caravan out at times you are not using it. This aspect of static caravan holiday home ownership is particularly appealing for many owners.
More flexible option
Most people agree that our lifestyles are more fast paced today. When both parents are working it’s very difficult to sort the dates out for annual holidays. This is exacerbated by restrictions placed on parents taking children out of school during term time. Most holidays taken in term time tend to be expensive because of the demand.
Purchasing your own static caravan holiday home means that you can get away when you want to, at a time to suit the whole family. And you can take weekend breaks too if you wish. Our owners with children find that it is the most flexible and least complex of all holiday options. They can just load everyone into the car and usually don’t have more than 2 hours’ driving time to get to Golden Gate.
Everything you need in one location
Modern caravan holiday parks really do provide everything anyone needs for a perfect holiday. Owners with kids say they love the Children’s’ Clubs and all the facilities at Golden Gate Holiday Centre. When taking short, relaxing breaks in their caravans, they don’t need to go off site unless they want to. There is a shop for provisions, restaurant, bar and a wealth of entertainment to keep them happy.
On other parks in North Wales, you can also experience the joy of full adventure holidays or quiet, peaceful breaks in rural surroundings. All parks are within easy travelling distance of the beach. Some are so close to the beach you can walk straight from the park onto the sand!
